The satin ribbon rose is a beautiful and easy way to add pops of color to your home. It’s also useful for decorating gifts and parties! You’ll need some ribbon, scissors, wire cutters or pliers (not necessary but helpful), glue gun and thorns (optional). I got these materials at my local craft store. Here are the steps:
how to make satin ribbon rose step by step
- Choose a color of ribbon
- Cut the ribbon into 2 equal pieces (I used 1.5 inches)
- Tie a knot in the end of each piece of ribbon
- Wrap the ribbon around your finger, then wind it in opposite directions to create loops. This is a good time to make sure that you have enough loops to give your rose petals fullness and shape. If not, wrap more loops until you’re satisfied with how many you have!
- Tightly wrap together all ends into an adorable little rose shape!
Step 1. select a color of ribbon
The first thing you need to do is select a color of ribbon that you like. You can choose any color, as long as it’s not too thick or too thin. When selecting your satin ribbon rose, it may help if you keep in mind how long the finished product should be and how much of it will be left over after the flower has been made. If the ribbon is too short or too long, then there won’t be enough to create multiple flowers with.
It’s important that this step goes smoothly because once we start making our roses with their bows in hand, we can no longer go back!
Step 2. cut the ribbon
Now that you have your ribbon, it’s time to cut it into a length of ribbon that will make a flower. The width of the ribbon should be about 1 inch wide, which is about 4 cm. If your satin ribbon has a beautiful pattern on it, be sure to cut around this so that the pattern appears on both sides of the finished flower.
You can also use different colors of satin ribbons to make different flowers (or use them all) or even add beads or sequins into your flower as well! This way, if someone wants only one type of flower style they can easily choose any color/style they want without having to go through all 3 steps for each individual color/style choice (which would take more time).
Step 3. Tie a knot in the ribbon’s end
Once you have your long ribbon length, tie a knot at its end. This will help keep the ribbon from falling apart during the rest of the process.
You can now use this knot to make a bow tie or other kinds of knots depending on what kind of flower you want to make.
Step 4. Wrap the ribbon around your finger
Wrap the ribbon around your finger, creating a loop. Do not wrap it too tightly; the more you wrap, the fuller your rose will be. Make sure that you have enough ribbon to make a full rose before continuing to step 5.
Step 5. wind in opposite directions, then wrap tightly together
- Wind the ribbon in opposite directions. Make sure to keep wrapping tightly together, as this will help you create a sturdy rose.
- Wrap the ribbon around your finger, or a pencil or other round object, several times and then pull it through to create one of the petals of your rose. Repeat this process until you have 10 or 12 loops that look like petals (you might need more depending on how big you want your rose).
Step 6. Pull it tightly and slow
Pull the ribbon slowly, but not so slow that you don’t feel any resistance. You want to pull it tightly, but not too tight. If you do not feel any resistance when winding the ribbon, then you should wind it tighter until there is enough tension on the satin strip to hold its shape and stand up straight.
Step 7. Untie it from your finger and repeat the process until you have 10 or 12 loops that looks like petals
Continue with the above steps and repeat until you have 10 or 12 loops that look like petals.
Step 8. Another option is to cut six or seven four-inch pieces of wire and bend them slightly, giving them a slight curve that will help your rose look more natural once it’s finished
Step 8. Another option is to cut six or seven four-inch pieces of wire and bend them slightly, giving them a slight curve that will help your rose look more natural once it’s finished. The length of the wire should be just long enough to allow you to wrap it around your finger without cutting into yourself.
Step 9. Insert the wire into the bottom of the flower through each petal, making a small hole in each and using hot glue to attach it to the wire
Now you can begin to insert the wire into the bottom of the flower through each petal, making a small hole in each and using hot glue to attach it to the wire. Make sure all of your petals are facing upward as you do this. Then, glue them all down by using a small dot of hot glue at each junction where they meet; you don’t want any escaping!
Step 10. Make sure all of your petals are facing upward
Now is the time to make sure that all of your petals are facing upward. This will help ensure that when your rose is completed, it looks as natural as possible.
Make sure everything is in place and then take a moment to enjoy what you have accomplished so far! It’s pretty impressive if I do say so myself!
This step was the last one before gluing the ribbon together.
cut the ribbons and make these roses that would be perfect for wedding decoration
Start by cutting the ribbons to the appropriate length. The length of each ribbon will depend on how big you want your rose to be, but in general, they should be around 10 inches long.
Once you have cut all your ribbons, thread through one end of each onto a needle and tie it off in a knot. This will prevent them from slipping out while you’re tying the leaves.
Now that we’ve finished cutting our ribbons and tying them together at one end with a little knot; it’s time for us to start making our first leaf!
The first thing we need to do is wrap our ribbon around our finger once or twice so that there are no gaps between where we’re going to start wrapping from as well as where we’re going to stop wrapping at later on in this process; then pull both ends tight together so that when you remove your finger from inside there won’t be any extra slack left over which could potentially cause problems during later stages if left unchecked without being dealt with beforehand now at this stage…
It’s not hard to make a satin ribbon rose and it can be done in just a few minutes. The best thing about this project is that you can customize it with any color ribbon or even use different colors or designs on each petal. It will look great in any flower arrangement!
